User Experience
Control and customize home page
Home Page Layout Customization
The User Experience tab allows administrators to customize the initial interface staff members see when they log into the Fieldworker web portal. By tailoring the Home Page Layout, you ensure that each role has immediate access to the most relevant tools and data. This section allows you to define which "cards" (widgets) appear on the dashboard for different groups of employees.
Default Layouts
The system provides baseline configurations for users who are not assigned to a specific company-defined role.
Admin Layout: Typically configured as a
2 X (1, 2)grid. By default, it displays:Card 1: Upcoming Appointments
Card 2: Timesheets
Card 3: Recent Calls
Other Layout: A standard view for general staff, often mirroring the Admin layout to provide consistency in appointment and time tracking.
Company Layouts
For specialized teams, you can create unique dashboards that prioritize their specific workflows.
Example (Engineering): Uses a
2 X 2grid to display:Card 1: Upcoming Appointments
Card 2: Recent Notes
Card 3: Document Center
Card 4: BI & Reporting

Managing Layouts
You can modify or expand these views using the following tools:
[+ ADD NEW LAYOUT]: Create a new dashboard configuration. You will be prompted to select an Employee Type, a Layout Type (grid dimensions), and the specific functionalities/cards you want to display.
Edit (Pencil Icon): Modify an existing company layout to change the cards or the grid arrangement.
Delete (Trash Icon): Remove a custom layout. Users assigned to that role will revert to the "Default" layout.
π‘ Layout Strategy
When designing a layout, consider the "Rule of Two":
Top Row: Place time-sensitive information here (e.g., Upcoming Appointments).
Bottom Row: Place high-frequency utility tools here (e.g., Timesheets or Recent Notes).
Changes made in the User Experience tab affect the web portal dashboard immediately. Users may need to refresh their Home page to see the new configuration.
Would you like me to draft a guide on how to create a new layout from scratch, including a list of all available "Cards" you can choose from?
This guide explains how to build a custom dashboard from scratch using the USER EXPERIENCE tab. By creating a custom layout, you can ensure that specific rolesβlike your billing team or field supervisorsβsee the most important data the moment they log in.
ποΈ Step-by-Step: Creating a New Layout
Navigate to the Tab: Go to Settings and select the USER EXPERIENCE tab.
Initialize: Click the blue + ADD NEW LAYOUT button at the bottom of the page.
Define the Role: Select the Employee Type from the dropdown. This links the dashboard to a specific role (e.g., Engineering, Fieldworker, Supervisor).
Choose Your Grid (Layout Type): Select how the "Cards" will be arranged on the screen:
2 X 2: A balanced grid of four equal-sized cards.
2 X (1, 2): One full-width card across the top with two smaller cards side-by-side underneath.
Assign Functionalities (Cards): For each slot in your chosen grid (Card 1, Card 2, etc.), select a widget from the dropdown menu.
Save: Click Save to publish the layout to all users with that designation.

ποΈ Available Dashboard Cards
When building your layout, you can choose from these functional widgets:
Card Name
Purpose
Upcoming Appointments
A live feed of the user's Scheduler for the next 24-48 hours.
Timesheets
A summary of recent Timesheets and their approval status.
Recent Calls
A log of recent communication activity within the platform.
Recent Notes
Quick access to the latest clinical or progress notes entered.
Document Center
A shortcut to recently uploaded or modified Documents.
BI & Reporting
Visual data snapshots (charts/graphs) for administrative oversight.
π¨ Layout Design Best Practices
For Field-Focused Roles
Top Priority: Place Upcoming Appointments in Slot 1.
Secondary Tool: Place Timesheets or Recent Notes in Slot 2.
Goal: Minimize scrolling so workers can see where they need to go immediately.
For Administrative/Billing Roles
Top Priority: Place BI & Reporting in the largest slot to monitor agency health.
Secondary Tool: Place the Document Center or Recent Calls to manage incoming paperwork and inquiries.
Testing Your Layout: After saving a new layout, you can "impersonate" or log in as a user with that role to see exactly how the dashboard appears on different screen sizes.
