Goals
What does the customer want?
The Goals on the Clients screen is the clinical heart of the application. It allows administrators and case managers to define specific outcomes, track progress against Individual Service Plans (ISPs), and link daily activities to measurable results. The Goals tab shows any and all goals that have been created for this customer as part of their person-specific planning process. The progress for each goal can also be individually tracked and accessed from this tab.
1. Top Navigation & Global Actions
At the top of the tab, you can initiate new goal-setting workflows:
[NEW GOAL]: Opens the modal to create a new high-level goal statement for the client.
[NEW PERMITTED TASK TYPE]: Allows you to define which specific types of services (e.g., Habilitation, Community Support) are authorized to contribute toward these goals.
2. The Goal Card (Detailed View)
Every goal is displayed as a comprehensive card (e.g., AR ISS 8 Goal), providing a snapshot of clinical progress:
Identity & Context
Goal Title: The name of the objective.
Metadata: Displays the Goal ID, Customer ID, and the linked Project ID (e.g., Project 402531). This ensures that every goal is rooted in a specific service authorization.
Description: A detailed text area describing the specific objective (e.g., "Testing the CG Button on Forms").

Progress Tracking
Visual Progress Bar: A dynamic green status bar indicating the percentage of completion (e.g., 14%).
In Progress Status: A text-based label indicating that the goal is currently being worked on by field staff.
Permitted Task Types
On the right side of the card, the Task Types section lists the activities that drive this goal:
Linked Tasks: Lists specific actions, such as Habilitation Visit.
Management Icons: Use the Pencil icon to edit the task type requirements or the Trash icon to remove a task type from this specific goal.
3. Usage & Integration
FieldWorker (Clinical Management)
Service Alignment: By linking Task Types to Goals, managers ensure that when a field worker logs a Timesheet for a "Habilitation Visit," the system automatically attributes that effort toward the client's progress.
Audit Readiness: This tab serves as clinical evidence for state auditors that the agency is actively tracking the "Goals and Needs" outlined in the client's ISP.
AbilityHub (Family Transparency)
Progress Visualization: The Progress Bar is often synced to the AbilityHub app. This allows families to see real-time updates on their loved oneβs milestones, fostering trust and engagement.
Goal Clarity: Families can read the goal descriptions to stay aligned with the agency's care strategy.
Add New Goal
The Add New Goal is used to define specific clinical or personal milestones for a client. This ensures that the care provided is goal-oriented and that progress is measurable for both the agency and the family.
Field Name
Type
Importance
Customer
Dropdown
Mandatory. Pre-filled with the current client (e.g., Andre Fuego Mandana Maya). This ensures the goal is anchored to the correct record.
Project
Dropdown
Mandatory. Links the goal to a specific service Project. This is essential for reporting, as it shows which service authorization is driving these results.
Goal Title
Text Input
A concise name for the objective (e.g., "Improve Verbal Communication"). This title appears on the main Goals card.
Goal Details
Textarea
A detailed description of the specific objective, including the criteria for success and any specific methods to be used by staff.
Status
Dropdown
Sets the current state of the goal (e.g., In Progress, On Hold, or Completed).
Progress (0-100)
Number
A numerical value representing the percentage of completion. This value generates the dynamic green progress bar seen on the Goals tab.

Actions & Controls
SAVE Button: Validates the fields and adds the new goal to the client's profile. Once saved, it becomes visible to the assigned field staff.
Close (X): Located at the top right, this discards the entry and returns you to the main Goals list.
System Integration
FieldWorker (Staff Execution)
Data-Driven Care: Once a goal is created, staff can see these objectives when they are at the client's location.
Progress Updates: Managers can update the Progress (0-100) field over time based on the Notes and observations submitted by field workers.
AbilityHub (Family Experience)
Milestone Tracking: In the family app, these goals are displayed as the "Roadmap to Success." Families can see the Goal Title, Details, and the Progress Bar, giving them a clear visual of their loved one's improvement.
Collaboration: Having clearly defined goals in the app allows families to provide reinforced support at home that aligns with the agency's professional targets.
Add a new permitted task to a goal
To drive progress toward a specific objective, you must define which activities are authorized to contribute to that goal. This is managed via the Add New Permitted Task modal, which links operational services to clinical outcomes. This form establishes the rules for how daily work (Tasks) feeds into the tracking for a Customer Goal.

Controls & Actions
SAVE Button: Validates the mapping and adds the task type to the Goal Card. Once saved, any task of this type performed for the client will contribute to the goal's progress percentage.

System Logic & Integration
Automatic Progress Calculation
When a field worker completes a task in the mobile app that matches a Permitted Task Type:
The system identifies the linked Goal.
The documentation/data from that task is used to update the Goal Progress Bar (e.g., moving from 14% toward 100%).
Billing & Compliance
By requiring that Task Types be mapped to Procedure Codes, the system ensures that every activity driving a goal is also a billable event that matches the Authorization on file. This prevents staff from performing "off-book" work that cannot be reimbursed.
